A surgeon who believes the best outcome starts with the right conversation.
Book a ConsultationDr Mooney chose orthopaedics because of what it gives people back. Hip pain that stops you sleeping. A knee that ends your mornings at the golf course. A joint that makes every step a negotiation. When surgery goes well and returns your comfort and mobility, it is genuinely life-changing — and that outcome is what drives the way he works.
Over his career, Dr Mooney has progressively focused his practice on hip and knee surgery — the area where he has built the greatest depth of experience and the bulk of his specialist training. This focus is deliberate: the more you concentrate on one area, the better your results. Hip and knee surgery is where he operates, where he teaches, and where he has chosen to build his practice.
Dr Mooney runs a personalised practice. That means you will see him — at your consultation, at your surgery, and at every follow-up. He does not delegate the consultation to a registrar or the operation to a colleague. If you are under Dr Mooney’s care, Dr Mooney is your surgeon.
